Meander Wilderness Experiences
Owner and operator, Daniel came up with the idea for Meander Wilderness Experiences with the aim of showcasing the Meander Valley region as a place where people can immerse themselves in the wilderness – all while having a bucket load of fun and adventure! The tour was developed to share his own passion and the passion that the locals in this area have for their community and environment with like minded adventure seekers.
Recently, Daniel has felt the effects of COVID-19 after an all-time low in bookings over the 2020/2021 period. Given the business relies heavily on interstate visitors, the border closures across Australia significantly disrupted the tour company.
Daniel approached the team at The van Diemen Project as he wanted to focus his energy on a bumper 2021/2022 summer with borders opening and wanted to capitalise on the influx of tourists to the state. The team have since worked on developing a social media campaign, which includes geotargeting components to target anyone arriving in the state at various entry points such as the Launceston Airport and Spirit of Tasmania terminals. A dedicated locals offer has also been included to target day-trippers and adventure seekers in holiday mode.
In additional to social media, the team have also worked on a radio campaign, with a strong focus on highlighting the adrenalin rush that participants can expect to receive on the water.
With borders now open and the advertising kicking off over the past few weeks, Daniel and the team have already seen an increase in bookings and expect to have quite a busy late Dec/January period. Daniel intends to review the success of the summer season in order to work on a new marketing strategy for 2022.
“I’m really happy with the unique and tailored approach that the team at The van Diemen Project have created and executed. We now have a more efficient way of targeting interstate arrivals and we expect to have a jam packed season on the Meander River.”
